Partnership & Prevention
Go Hand in Hand

Overseeing a pet’s lifelong preventive health care is a team effort. A very important part of our work is building a strong partnership between veterinarian and pet owner. For us, this partnership extends beyond the exam room. It is our job to conduct your pet’s physical exams twice a year, but it is our mission to help guide your pet’s wellness every day.

We work with you to monitor your pet against six key pillars of preventive pet health care: twice-a-year exams, dental care, behavior, parasite control, nutrition and vaccinations.

Twice-a-Year Exams

Twice-a-year exams for your dog or cat are the true centerpiece of preventive health care. If our key wellness measures are the spokes of a wheel, twice-a-year exams are the hub holding them together. Because it’s during these comprehensive physical exams that all health variables are evaluated together to better assess your pet’s immediate health care needs.

Why Twice a Year?

The early phase of a serious condition can quietly develop inside a perfectly healthy-looking dog or cat. But remember: Dogs and cats age far more quickly than we do, becoming middle-aged by their 4th birthday. Their diseases can also advance quickly, so they require more frequent monitoring.

Twice-a-year comprehensive physical exams and blood tests can spot a disease in its beginning stages before your dog or cat shows any obvious signs. Whenever possible we want to treat problems early when your pet is still feeling fine, before they experience any discomfort. Plus, detecting a problem early can help ensure a better prognosis, more simple treatment, an earlier recovery and reduced medical expenses.

How Comprehensive Are the Exams?

Very. Comprehensive physical examinations conducted at Willow Creek Mobile Veterinary Service provide an in-depth assessment of your pet’s overall health, establish important baselines and meticulously inspect your pet from tooth to tail:

  • Ear Exam
  • Eye Exam
  • Rectal exam
  • Dental exam
  • Neurologic evaluation
  • Cardiovascular evaluation
  • Weight & nutrition counseling
  • Coat & skin evaluation
  • Abdominal palpation
  • Urogenital evaluation
  • Musculoskeletal evaluation
  • Pulmonary/lung evaluation
  • Behavioral counseling

A healthy pet starts with a healthy mouth

Dental disease in dogs and cats is very common, and very dangerous. Left untreated, it can lead to major problems like heart disease and kidney failure. Regular dental care is critical to your pet’s health, but they can’t do it alone. Willow Creek Mobile Veterinary Service is here to help you brush up on your pet’s dental needs.

Good pet behavior is a sign of good pet health.

Similarly, bad pet behavior can be a medical issue in disguise. Pet behavior is a living, breathing, barking, meowing barometer of their overall wellness. Knowing how to “read” your dog or cat is an important part of their ongoing preventive care. The more you know, the sooner you can address underlying health problems.

Prevention is Easy, but They Can’t Do It Alone

Mosquitos, fleas and ticks all carry diseases that can seriously harm your dogs and cats. They can also lead to serious skin conditions and other health issues. Protecting your pet from these parasites is critical. Luckily, it’s also easy, and Willow Creek Mobile Veterinary Service is here to help. As partners fighting parasites, we both have a job to do.

Willow Creek Mobile Veterinary Service will screen and test for infestations and diseases in our hospitals, you as a pet owner can learn the facts, get your pets tested and on a prevention plan, and stay current with the plan. Let’s do this.

The Power of Nutrition

Help Your Pet Eat Healthy

Just like humans, your pet benefits from a healthy diet. Explore our guide for easy tools, tips and information to help you choose what, when and how much to feed your pets.

Cat & Dog Vaccinations

Just like children, dogs and cats need vaccinations against dangerous viral and bacterial diseases, such as:

  • Rabies
  • Feline leukemia virus (FeLV)
  • Canine parvovirus

Protection should begin early when they’re puppies and kittens, and be supplemented with boosters when they become adults.

Willow Creek Mobile Veterinary Service will determine if your pet is healthy enough to receive vaccinations and will make individualized recommendations for each and every pet.
